"The Wicked Flee When No Man Pursueth; But the Righteous Are as Bold as A Lion"
To my brother and sister officers in the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, I would like to present to you, a message of hope. Please allow these words of support to penetrate the core of your being. In these darkest of hours, these gravest of times, these moments of sadness, this message is for YOU!
The greatest gift you can give your brother officer at this moment of divine providence will not come in the form of grieving. It will not come by way of tears. For the tears come easy and the grieving will abound in those better suited for the task. Your gift to him will not come on bended knee, in mourning and in sorrow, for that is not what he is asking of you. His request of you is something far more difficult, more daunting, and more courageous. It is a task most aptly suited for the strong.
For while the sheepdog’s heart is heavy, his work is never done.
And so, in his memory, and his honor, RISE!
Rise for him from bended knee and stand and face the world. Let evil see your strength as you boldly face the darkness. Let Satan's eyes see the resplendent brilliance of your existence. With chests adorned by shields of honor, stand proudly by his side. As the eyes of our nation turn to you and search for weakness; in his honor, show them strength.
Please know that you are supported by a nation of law enforcement officers whose thoughts and prayers are with you this day. You are not alone. You will never be alone, for together we are one!
